It’s worth pointing out that earlier (in macOS 12 Monterey or the previous version) the settings for switching browsers were found in the General section. However, in macOS 13 Ventura, it has gone inside the new Desktop & Dock section, which is not so well-thought-out adjustment. Ideally, it would have been better to keep this setting in the General section.

It’s important to note that macOS allows you to switch the default browser from an app itself. When you open a browser that is not currently set as the default option, you would get a prompt to do so. Just click on the prompt saying something like “Make Safari Default” and you are good to go.
